I think the only person I’ve met in real life with 100% career satisfaction was this gal I knew who was a presenter at a children’s science museum and delivered every line like she was running a WWE match. Every time you passed the room where she was giving a presentation, you’d hear something like “WHO’S READY FOR CEPHALOPODS?!?” and the kids would go absolutely nuts cheering.

New weird horse just dropped, folks.

A spotless giraffe was recently born at Bright’s Zoo in Limestone, TN and was just announced in the media this morning. They’re starting a public naming contest for her, of course.

A baby giraffe stands in a pen. she is a consistent soft brown with a lighter belly and has no spots.ALT

I’d love to know what type of mutation causes this lack of of pattern, but I don’t know if we have genetics on that for giraffes the way we do other species. As far as is known, she’s the first spotless giraffe ever documented!

Guy came up to me and yelled so loudly that it made me jump. All caps isn’t enough I need wordart to describe how loud he was. This was not “I can’t tell I’m being loud” this was “In another life I was the town crier” loud. Hear ye hear ye loud. He was friendly, but holy crap

the difference is that twitter is like being actively hit in the head with hammers, whereas logging on to tumblr is like being a given a hammer and expected to hit my own head with it. which i do.

I really genuinely like this site and it’s original layout and premise. I like custom themes. I like mobile themes. I like how posting works. I like how tag search works. I like sending and receiving asks. I like how you can make your blog whatever the hell you want. I like this fucking platform and for some reason staff is vigorously sawing their limbs off like they have to but they’re in the middle of a grocery store and everyone there is going “why the hell are you doing that?” and staff cries “you all want me to”

I need people to understand…that if you believe in paying people a livable hourly wage…most hand-knitted clothing should cost hundreds of dollars

“My grandma could make that!” YOUR GRANDMA LOVES YOU ENOUGH TO SPEND A MONTH MAKING YOU A SWEATER FOR CHRISTMAS, I HAVE NO SUCH AFFECTION

since crochet is on trend right now it’s worth reminding everyone that crochet cannot be done by machine. knitting can, and often times you’ll see garments that are machine- knitted in a way to kind of mimic the look of crochet, but if you ever see real crochet being sold as fast fashion, there was a person who had to do that by hand and they got paid pennies for it.
